BAU - the largest international trade fair for the construction industry - opened its doors from 13 to 17 January 2025. Despite being shortened by one day, around 180,000 visitors gathered in the Munich exhibition halls to marvel at the innovations presented by over 2,230 exhibitors from 58 countries.
Our fire protection experts presented the latest innovations and product developments from SIMON PROtec to countless interested visitors. Of course, we also brought along some all time favourites, such as our premium actuators from the PA-KL² family and our chain drives.
We are very grateful for five eventful and impressive days at the trade fair, during which we could welcome many of our customers for fruitful discussions, but also we could make numerous new contacts that allow us to look forward to a successful year 2025!

Just Powerful! The PA-KL²-DUO
If really high power is required, e.g. for heavy roof hatches, the PA-KL²-DUO tandem version can flex its muscles. It has two gear units that are synchronised internally using SICO technology. This enables opening widths of up to 1422 mm with a force of over 1000 N. With two actuators, this results in an impressive 2000 N!
Equipped with these technical features, it can cope with even the heaviest loads and is therefore the ideal drive for roof hatches, as the side mounting on the window means that the access remains clear!
At the trade fair stand, it impressed visitors as a double version on a roof hatch element over 2 m in size, where it could display its full power and reliability!

Extremely flexible! Our chain actuators.
Of course, we also had our all-rounders with us again: the chain actuators.
Starting with the super-compact PA-K-20, which can be integrated into any window profile thanks to its extremely low installation height of just 19 mm,, visitors could experience our wide range of chain actuators, which offer the right solution for every application.
The EA-K-50/ K-65, which is available with either 500 N or 650 N and can therefore also move heavy loads reliably and safely, was presented as the new powerhouse among our chain actuators. It is the perfect choice when it comes to opening heavy windows, but without offering a large surface area for wind to attack due to its narrow chain.

Take off! Our premium folding arms as a weight exhibit
A special eye-catcher for every visitor was certainly our weight exhibit, which lifted visitors into the air using a specially constructed platform powered by three of our PA-KL² folding arms. An integrated scale showed the user the weight moved in each case. (Of course, discretion was maintained here!)
Equipped with a lifting force of up to 1000 N, our PA-KL² folding arms are suitable even for very heavy window elements. Thanks to the user-friendly SICO-LINK software, the drives can also be parameterised, synchronised and read out intuitively and with little effort.
The lifting platform, designed as an eye-catcher, allowed visitors to experience first-hand that our folding arms can move the heaviest loads with the utmost reliability and precision, even in an emergency, i.e. in the event of a fire, to ensure the greatest possible safety.

Simply smart! The innovative SICO-HUB module
Our latest innovation in smart actuator control! With the help of the smart SICO-HUB module, our actuators can now be conveniently controlled via an app on your smartphone! - A real market innovation!
With the SICO-HUB module, several operators can be combined on one floor. It is also possible to connect a wind/rain detector. For a pure application in controlled natural ventilation, the SICO-HUB module can thus replace a complete ventilation control centre, resulting in considerable cost savings.
The associated app with its Bluetooth interface offers maximum ease of use for the user and will soon be available in the App Store.
