Rotary wings require special actuators. We at SIMON PROtec know this and have designed a folding arm actuator especially for rotary wings. The actuator housing is fixed to the frame. The rotary arm of the actuator PA-KL²-DF is freely movable on a rail with a smooth-running carriage, which is installed on the sash. The actuator PA-KL²-DF(-K) can be used flexibly regarding the installation situation and direction of rotation. Depending on the type of installation, opening widths of up to 140° are possible, thus ensuring rapid smoke extraction and ventilation in case of fire. The PA-KL²-DF rotary wing actuator is tested and certified according to DIN EN 12101-2 for use as a natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation device and can also be used for controlled natural ventilation (KNL). The actuator is available as solo actuator and as synchronous version.
The PA-KL²-DF rotary wing folding arm is the premium actuator technology for the electromotive opening and closing of bottom-hung, top-hung and side-hung sashes. It is suitable for use on inward and outward closing elements. It is mounted on the secondary closing edges. Folding arm actuators have a special kinematics and their high performance gear (> 20.000 load changes) in combination with the stainless steel lever arm is very resistant. Especially the small installation dimensions make this automatic opener ideal for projects with high aesthetic demands - especially for large and heavy wings.
More power through synchronous version
The PA-KL²-DF can also be used as a synchronous actuator on bottom-hung and top-hung sashes that offer little space for opening. As a synchronous version, the folding arm applies a force of up to 1,000 N and can therefore be easily used on heavy elements. Its high resistance guarantees a safe functioning of the folding arm actuator even in strong winds.
Functionality and sophisticated design
The connection is made via the SICO-PLUG connector plug. This contains the SICO BUS programming interface by which parameters such as opening stroke and force can be parameterized directly on site and further status messages can be read out. Products of the PA-series can be networked with each other in synchronous groups as well as for remote control with SHEV control centers and building management systems. Like all folding arm² actuators, the rotary wing actuator is characterized by a very high efficiency for the low power consumption and thus permanently reduces operating costs.
In both end positions OPEN/CLOSED the actuator also provides a potential-free contact. Work sequence control and start-up delay are freely adjustable. Due to the freely adjustable start-up delay, the rotary wing folding arm is ideal for the automated opening of secondary sashes. The PA-KL²-DF rotary wing actuator can also be used in combination with an additional locking device.
