In this scattered light smoke detector, the light emitter and receiver are arranged in the measuring chamber so that the light beam of the transmitter can not hit directly on the receiver. Only the light scattered on floating parts (smoke) (Tyndall effect) reaches the receiver and is converted into an electrical signal, which sets the detector in the alarm state and the built-in individual display lights up.
Already with a smoke quantity of 3% (according to EN 54-7), based on the optical scattered light principle of the smoke detector, the detector ensures an early and reliable opening of the respective smoke control dampers. As a result, the scattered light smoke detector offers a high degree of fire protection safety.
